In Her Own Words...
“Down to Earth, natural and committed, Leslassa’s, positive spirit touches people in a very ‘real’ way”, is how many people describe Leslassa Adey Armour Shillingford the 19 year old reigning Miss Dominica.
Leslassa Adey, is Amharic for ‘the season of Spring when all things come together in Harmony’. Living up to her name, Leslassa believes in conservation and being in balance with nature. An advocate for positive change she recognises that as Miss Dominica she is afforded many and has taken every opportunity to instigate dialogue and affect awareness in so many areas she never dreamt of.
Passionate about her platform of Holistic Education, Leslassa sees it as an essential way to educate children and all people to appreciate their whole selves, find their passion and innate talents and then excel at them. She hopes to bring this message through to the World Stage and is totally proud and humbled to be this year’s representative for Dominica, the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, at Miss World 2013 for the first time in 35 years."
