Julie describes herself as a “smiling friendly girl” and says her greatest passion is dancing. Born in France, 18 year old Julie grew up in Ducos, Martinique, where she currently works as a veterinary assistant. With both a passion for dancing and animals, she is happy to work in either field. In her spare time she enjoys Zumba and keeping fit and she says that her special talents include salsa and Bharata Matyam dancing. Her favourite food is ice cream, and her favourite novel is Les Proies by Annick Cojean.
Inspired by the beauty and feminity of Venus, this chiffon gown of an iridescent fuchsia colour features a mother of pearl inspired bustier which sparkles like the rays of the sun on the surface of the sea.
The mermaid styled skirt is reminiscent of a flower petal, whilst the bustier is adorned with pearl seed and Swarovski crystals.
Born on the 19th April 1975, on the Caribbean island of Martinique, Olivier Couturier is the heir of 3 generations of dressmakers. His destiny thus set, brought him little by little to the world of fashion, gifted in design, a keen sense of aesthetics and good taste.
A student of the Jean Patou fashion house, he obtained his degree in fashion design before enrolling on a course in stage costume design offered by the professionals of l’Opéra Garnier. His talent quickly became apparent, his mastery of cutting.
He has showcased his style and knowledge in Paris, capital of fashion and has been awarded the title of best mixed fashion designer; the first to win this prize, special prize awarded by the jury and the ‘Coup-de-Coeur’ prize from the Who’s Next sponsor (Laboratoire international des tendances de mode international).
It is in Martinique that he will firmly establish his brand ‘Olivier Couturier’, to shine upon the rest of the world.
