The contestant representing China PR, Wenxia Yu, and eight of her fellow participants were treated to a tour around Ordos city, courtesy of the local government.

Miss World contestants for New Zealand, Angola, Barbados, Chile, South Sudan, Paraguay, Nepal, Norway, and Fiji got the chance to take in the sights of Ordos from the luxury of a specially chartered government bus.

There were stops in three locations so that the public could get to meet the ladies to take photographs, and a keen crowd gathered with cameras in hand. The group handled all the attention with perfect composure and, as you’ll see from the picture below, made a few little friends along the way.

First stop was the impressive Ordos Mall, where evening shoppers got the chance to photograph the group, and to take a few pictures with individual contestants as well.

A special police escort ensured that the women arrived in style at their second destination, Ordos Plaza. The large square was full of Sunday evening crowds enjoying an outdoor concert. The welcome was enthusiastic and the contestants happily posed for more pictures with the excited crowd.

Last but not least, there was Dongsheng Park - which boasts an open-air movie theatre, as well as a spectacular fountain show. A crowd of over a hundred people welcomed the contestants to their Sunday evening activities.

The ladies all had a wonderful time and it was a great opportunity to experience the hospitality of Ordos, China in all its glory.
