15 October 2012

Early last week Nathalie den Dekker, Netherlands representative and top 15 finalist at the Miss World 2012, took the time to honour a resident from her home town of Made, Netherlands for her outstanding contribution to the local community.

Appearing at an award ceremony at the Wijngaerd Foundation, Nathalie presented the award to Ilonka Neefs-Booij who was rewarded for 25 years voluntary service to the Foundation.

Speaking at the event Nathalie said “I myself have five years experience of what helping others means... Therefore I appreciate the efforts of all the volunteers. This crowded room of Wijngaerd Volunteers may therefore applaud yourselves the most.”

The Wijngaerd Foundation is a centre which cares for individuals with social, psychological and physical difficulties, providing a residency for one or more days a week, and day care assistance. It aims to improve the life of those it cares for and encouraging their independence.
