It has been a busy week for former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, as she receives an award and continues promoting her debut music single.

Priyanka joined the elite of Bollywood on Saturday for the first Annual People’s Choice Awards India. The event which pays tribute to the best of the entertainment world was a glitzy affair, with Priyanka winning Best Debut in the International Recording Artist category for her Single In My City Ft. Will.i.am.

The single, written by Ester Dean and produced by Red One (whose credits include Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson) was an international success and currently features on Thursday Night Kickoff, a US show covering live NFL games.

Speaking about her single, Priyanka said “I am overwhelmed by the response to my debut single… It was great working with will.i.am who introduced me to this song.” On Interscope Records, Priyanka’s debut album is scheduled for release next year, and will include songs with more lyrical contribution from Priyanka.

Priyanka continued her multi-city promotional tour over the weekend. She performed her first live DJ sets at the Hard Rock Café in Delhi and at Seven Degrees in Gurgaon, followed by performances of her latest material to sell out crowds.
