INTERVIEW
Tell us about your job/studies
I’m studying pharmacy and next year I will get my degree as pharmacist. Beside studying I work part-type at a pharmacy, healthcare for elderly people and modelling work.
How are you preparing for Miss World in South Africa?
I am preparing myself mentally and physically by doing my exercises everyday, eat healthy and keeping myself up to date with world news.
What's your daily routine?
When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is pray to God to guide me through the day. Furthermore I don’t have a daily routine because everything depends on my school schedule.
How do you feel about travelling to South Africa?
It feels marvellous. Because I heard a lot about Nelson Mandela, the things that he did for this country and for me, it’s a pleasure to see how far this country has come.
Which elements of Miss World are you most looking forward to?
Meeting the other participants and the safari journey seems a great experience.
Do you have a message to the other Miss World contestants?
All of us are honoured to be here. And each of us are beautiful in our own way. May the best win.
What do you think are you qualities that youwill bring to the competition?
Social, funny, energetic and studious.
What would it mean to you to do well at Miss World?
The main reason for me to do well at Miss World is to promote my sunny island Curacao.
What is your favourite landmark?
Our Juliana Bridge. Our Juliana Bridge is the highest in the Caribbean and the original thing about this bridge is that it connects our west side (Otrobanda) with our east side (Punda).
What is the one thing you cannot live without?
There are several things I cannot live without my family, my health, love and the motivation to get through everything. All these facts keep me growing, going and glowing!!
Who do you most admire?
I admire a lot of people, too many to mention. My parents are the ones who brought me up and they made the person I am today. Their guidance was essential because without it I would not go this far. Nelson Mandela and Angelina Jolie. I admire them because of everything they have done for people in need (human rights and women rights and child labour).
Who has inspired you most in your life?
My mother. My mother had a tough childhood, she had to work hard since her early years and when we were born she did everything for us so we will never be in need.
