The finalists wore traditional and evening dresses and were judged in a number of areas including catwalk skills, self-expression and general knowledge of their country.

Melkam studies at university and enjoys writing poetry and playing football. The 21 year old was crowned at the national final held at the Hilton Addis Ababa Hotel.
