This year’s Miss Northern Ireland contest celebrated its 25th Anniversary by organiser Alison Campbell at a glamorous final held in the Europa Hotel Belfast on Monday 13th June 2011. This year Alison and her team of judges - including current title holder Lori Moore, former Miss NI Melissa Patton and Appletiser Marketing Manager Paula Colhoun - travelled to more than 12 venues throughout the region selecting some of the finest candidates for the title. 23 fabulous finalists were chosen for to battle for the coveted Miss Northern Ireland crown.
The extravagant gala final, was hosted by stunning TV presenter Zoe Salmon - a former Miss Northern Ireland herself – alongside much-loved local TV presenter Frank Mitchell.
Judges included former Miss World from Gilbralter , Kaiane Aldorino . Also attending the final was Open Golf Champion 2011, Darren Clarke .
The event welcomed a new element this year as it featured a stylish Appletiser StyleFIX fashion show to complement the pageant element of the evening and it showcased an array of fashion and accessories. Organisers also invited former winners from the last twenty-five years to come along to the event, some of the popular faces what attended included Joanne Salley, Catherine Milligan and Majella Byrne, the first Miss NI to be crowned under Alison’s organisation of the contest. The Gala final was attended by over 400 guests who enjoyed a gorgeous 4 course dinner along with the night’s entertainment which included West End and BBC star, Niamh Perry.
The 2011 Miss Northern Ireland crown was won by Finola Guinanne a 22 year old student from Belfast.
2nd place went to Maurade Whitehouse, 20 a student from Coalisland. 3rd place was won by Sarah McQuillan, 20 a student from Dunloy. Both girls were delighted to have placed so highly.
