Malaika Mushandu (18), was crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2011 in the early hours of February 13th 2011. That’s what the history books will say when they write about today. They will also mention that on the same night Malaika was crowned Miss Top Model and Miss Photogenic, making her one of the biggest winners in the pageant’s history- and perhaps the youngest.

The teenager from Harare beat 33 other contestants from around the country.  First runner up was Rumbidzai Mudzengere and Lisa Morgan was second runner up.

Like last year, the pageant attracted a beyond capacity crowd at the Harare International Conference Centre, with over 5 000 people packing into the venue.

Standing tall at 1.82m tall, Malaika Mushandu is a student and she will represent Zimbabwe at Miss World 2011.
