SHANGHAI Monday 1st November - The Gary Player Invitational
Miss World 2010 - Alexandria Mills, 1st Runner-up – Emma Wareus, Miss World 2007 Zilin Zhang and Miss China Xiao Tang attend the Gary Player Invitational Auction in Shanghai where a record RMB 12.2 million was raised to benefit Chinese AIDS orphans. The auction, co-organized by Coca-Cola China, The Player Foundation and the Chinese Foundation for the Prevention of STD and AIDS, was part of the gala event preceding the 2010 Gary Player Invitational golf tournament. Gary Player initiated the AIDS-orphans care program with Coca-Cola through his Player Foundation five years ago. “It is a long-term mission to help AIDS orphans to regain their confidence and lead a normal life. We have received unflinching support from our corporate donors such as Coca-Cola,” Li Chaolin, president of the Chinese Foundation for the Prevention of STD and AIDS, said. The gala also featured performances by well-known artists including world-renowned concert pianist Lang Lang, Hong Kong singer Eason Chan, and Singaporean singer-songwriter, composer and actor JJ Lin. |

MIAMI Tuesday 9th November - Charity Gala Dinner Miss World - Alexandria and Emma Wareus participated in the 'I Have A Dream' Foundation's Annual Charity Gala Dinner, with a grand total of over half a million dollars raised. The Foundation provides year-round academic support, counselling, and after-school and summer-school educational programs for disadvantaged children throughout their entire school career.
