Event in Ireland honours fundraising work

Chairman of Miss World Limited and International President of Variety, The Children’s Charity, Julia Morley was honoured with the Humanitarian Award by the Variety Club of Ireland at a special event held in Dublin. Joining her in celebration of this prestigious award were current Miss World Kaiane Aldorino, Miss World 2002 Azra Akin, and Mr World Kamal Ibrahim. Kaiane said: "I was very happy to be supporting her as well as family and friends. She truly deserves such an award."

Through the theme of “Beauty with a Purpose”, Julia Morley has for many years teamed up with the Miss Ireland organisers to help generate funds in support of disadvantaged children. Miss World fundraising events in Ireland have directly benefitted those in greatest need, including the establishment of the Opthalmic Unit and Eye Care Department in Temple Street Children’s Hospital as part of the “Help a Child to See” program, as well as donations to the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), CHEERS (Children’s Hospital Emergency Equipment Renewal Scheme), the Heartbeat Trust, and many more worthwhile causes.
