This year’s Three Kings Cavalcade Parade, held on January 5th, was a resounding success as Gibraltar gathered to see Miss World on her final public engagement on home soil, before heading across the world to begin her year-long fundraising tour.
The Cavalcade was led by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Band, and followed by the traditional Star of David. The star was followed by The Three Kings and Gibraltar’s brightest star, Miss World, Kaiane Aldorino.
The crowd on Main Street was three lines deep as the people of Gibraltar gathered once again to get a glimpse of their Miss World, who was followed by ten spectacular floats.
The procession concluded at the Cathedral where Miss World, The Mayor and The Minister of Culture and Tourism presented trophies to the winning floats, before the festivities came to an end just after 11pm.
Kaiane commented “I was waving to everyone along Main Street and they were all saying how proud they were, I felt very humbled. I have been attending the Three Kings’ Cavalcade Parade for many years. When I was young, I helped to build floats for the parade and one year I performed with my dancing team. This year felt different, as I was the star!”
Kaiane will soon embark on a tour of Asia, starting on January 11th, including joining in with celebrations to mark the fifth anniversary of Variety Club Japan.
