Despite a chill wind, the land of the rising sun lived up to its name and Kaiane was able to enjoy a pleasant walk around the Shinagawa district of Tokyo. One place of particular interest was the Takanawa Shinto Shrine, where Kaiane talked with local worshippers and learned a little of the practices at the shrine. She then relaxed in the winter sunshine, taking in the beauty of the area's landscaped Japanese gardens with their traditional shrines, bridges and a ceremonial bell.

Kaiane was pleased to meet up again with Eruza Sasaki, who represented Japan at the Miss World 2009 contest in South Africa. The new Miss Japan, Hiroko Matsunaga, was also in attendance at the event in Tokyo, taking tips for her appearance at Miss World 2010, in Vietnam, later this year.
