14th June Life-saving operation a complete success

Last week, the Miss World website reported on little Sunshine in the Philippines. When Chairman of Miss World Organisation Julia Morley visited the Philippines General Hospital, she met Sunshine and her mother.  Sunshine suffered from a heart condition, and the staff at PGH have been doing all they can through medication and X-ray scans over the past few months. However, due to her worsening condition, she desperately needed emergency surgery, but the funds were not available.  No child should have to face such a desperate situation, and so Julia Morley immediately pledged to pay for the life-saving surgery.

Sunshine's operation took place last week, and we are pleased to announce that it was a complete success. She has made an excellent recovery and will be discharged today. Earlier today, Philippines licence holder Cory Quirino visited Sunshine and her mother at the hospital, and met with the PGH staff. The surgeons are confident Sunshine will be able to lead a normal life and will be sending further updates on her progress.
