May 22nd International tents come together for awards

Last night the Variety tents that had made the most exceptional contributions to making a difference in children's lives were recognised at the annual Variety Gold Heart Awards.

Four Miss Worlds and Mr World were in attendance - reigning Miss World Kaiane Aldorino, Miss World 2007 Zilin Zhang, Miss World 2002 Azra Akin, Miss World 1980 Kimberley Santos and Mr World Kamal Ibrahim.

The winner of the Gold Heart Award was Tent 51 Israel and Chief Barker Ory Slonim collected the prize. International President Julia Morley presented the winners with the awards. "We are very proud to receive this award and I would like to thank everyone involved with Tent 51" Ory said.

The silver award went to Tent 17 Texas and bronze went to tent 4 St Louis. Miss World will be in Hollywood for the next few days as the Variety World Conference ends with the Humanitarian Awards on Sunday night.
